Sites: Chess
I've designed sites on and off for over 25 years. Some were truly awful, leopard skin background anyone? Thankfully I don't have a copy of that anymore.
Back in the early 2000's I needed a hobby. I found a local chess club I could walk to, and joined. I was good enough for their bottom team... It didn't take long for me to start helping with their magazine, and I even designed a web site for them. Though I can't actually remember if they used it! But then I fell out with the guy running the club, and that was that.
