I have been interrupted by sales calls a few times whilst eating. I just say politely "no thank you, goodbye" and hang up on them (without waiting for any sales pitch). I have no guilt doing so, as they have just disturbed my meal.

Oddly enough, they don't seem to call again....

Funnily enough we had been talking about this again and decided that passing them onto to our 5 year old might be a good idea. Providing I can stop him chatting the girls up!!!

These days when I get a call from sales people I hand the phone over to my 20 month old daughter who's delighted to have someone to babble to. Her record is an Indian moblie phone company rep who devoted 4:50 to my daughter's cute and unintelligible gibberish.
