Local Elections
Today, in fact it was this evening, I had a phone call from the local Liberal Democrats. At least I hope it was them! The call went something like this:
- Caller:
- Can we be assured of your vote in the elections in May?
- Me:
- There are elections in May? is this local elections?
- Caller:
- there are and yes it is the local elections, so can we expect your support?
- Me:
- So who is standing, is it Bernie…
- Caller:
- Well we don’t actually have a candidate at the moment
- Me:
- ??
- Caller:
- We are in between candidates
- Me:
- So you are asking me to support you even though there is no-one to vote for!
- Caller:
- erm, well yes
- Me:
- I’ll probably vote for you then!
