When writing a WordPress plugin

Remember that your directory should be the same as the name of the plugin. I just spent an hour trying to figure out why my eshortcodes plugin wasn’t working when I realised that locally I was using the directory eshortcode by mistake.

Oops.

Redesign coming soon

I like the new default theme included with WordPress 3.0 so much I am going to start using it as soon as I have upgraded! Albeit with a few changes because I absolutely hate the way it put a thumbnail in the header… Mind you I did learn how to create a child theme, so it wasn’t all bad. I may use a few things from the current design, but we’ll see when the time comes.

The Creature locker

This one is probably best viewed full screen. Some people from the Casual Collective may recognise some of the names used. Obviously the creatures have yet to be fully created.

Backyard Monsters

This is a quick video taken from a new game coming to Facebook that I have the pleasure of being able to alpha test. I’ll do some more small videos as things progress.

Currently…

I’m going through my WordPress plugin, eShop, and upgrading a lot of the php to fit in more with standard WP practices. It’s going a lot smoother than expected so far!

There was nothing wrong with the code I had, but by doing this I am hoping to future proof the plugin that little bit more.
