Differently Abled

On watching a programme on BBC2 the other night it was interesting to hear what people with disabilities had to say. Someone who had lost part of, if not all of, one arm had been fitted with a claw in place of his hand. He asked the question “how many of you can pick up an egg from boiling water” (or something similar).

He pointed out that he wasn’t disabled he was Differently Abled. I think this is a great phrase and will do my best to utilise it.

Though of course the Disability Discrimination Act would then become shortened to DADA.
